Process for Admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) 2024-25

Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj invites applications for admission to five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Programme. Interested candidates may apply through an online Application form to be available by 01.01.2024 at our website www.rpnlup.ac.in. Students are suggested to read this information carefully before filling up the application form.

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully of the Five-Year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Programme.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Candidates must have passed Class XII (10+2 system) or its equivalent from a single recognized board. Candidates appearing for the 12th standard annual examination in 2024 are eligible to apply.
  2. A candidate must have secured 45% or more marks in aggregate. The SC/ST candidate must have secired 40% or more marks in aggregate.
  3. For applying to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) candidates must have appeared in CLAT-2024 Examination.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. The last for submission of the online application form is January 20, 2024.
  2. The admission will be based on the scores obtained in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), 2024, the eligibility requirements, criteria and procedures specified by Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj on its website (www.rpnlup.ac.in).
  3. The CLAT-2024 is carried out by the NLU Consortium.
  4. Appearing in CLAT-2024 will not be a sufficient condition to get admission in the University, In addition to appearing in CLAT-2024, a candidate must apply on the official portal of admission on the university website i.e www.rpnlup.ac.in to take admission in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). Applications submitted through any other mode or portal/website will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  5. Candidates are advised to ascertain that they fulfill the Minimum Eligibility Criteria.
  6. Before initiating the application process, the candidates are advised to read the contents of this Procedure carefully. The Ordinances, Rules, Regulations, and Notifications available on the University website, www.rpnlup.ac.in shall be final and binding.
  7. Determination of eligibility and verification of documents for admission to the B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Programme will be the sole purview of the university.
  8. Allocation of seats to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme for the academic session 2024-2025 will be based solely on the scores obtained in CLAT-2024, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria (Details of the seats are given as annexure-1)
  9. The university will not be responsible for a candidate’s lack of awareness of the admission guidelines, schedule, Eligibility Criteria for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). Candidates must check their dashboard, email, and admission website for all communications and updates related to admissions from time to time. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to regularly check his/her dashboard, email, and admission website for all allocations, communications and updates related to admissions.
  10. In case of non-compliance with the requirements for admission, including non-submission of relevant documents and/or non-payment of fee(s) within the stipulated date and time, the candidate will lose his/her right to admission.
  11. Candidates are responsible for proving his/her eligibility for claiming reservation under any of the reserved categories. Candidates will be required to upload the certificates/ documents of the respective reserved category/sub-category/quota issued by the Competent Issuing Authority. The name of the Candidate claiming reservation must match the Candidate’s name as it appears on his/her corresponding School Board qualifying certificates. Similarly, the parents’ names must also match in the certificates.
  12. If, at any stage, documents submitted by the candidate relating to admission are found to be fake/ non- genuine and/or fabricated or, in any other manner, defective, the said candidate will not be given admission. If already admitted, admission will be canceled without any prior notice in this regard. If the same is found after completing the Program, his/her degree will be revoked and appropriate legal action will be taken against such candidates.
  13. A candidate’s participation in the admission process will be provisional. If, at any stage, it is found that the eligibility requirements are not fulfilled, the admission if granted, shall be canceled and treated as invalid ab initio and appropriate legal action will be taken against such candidate. The University will not refund the Admission Fee (if paid) in case a candidate is found ineligible at any stage.
  14. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission of any candidate who violates the rules and regulations laid down by the university.
  15. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website and his/her dashboard for any updates and grievances. Any grievance pertaining to the candidate’s lack of awareness of the published information and updates will not be entertained.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  1. It is mandatory for the candidate to register online in the admission portal available at the University website (https://rpnlup.ac.in). Registration through any other mode will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  2. For applying to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme of the University, the candidates will have to pay a one-time non-refundable Application Fee of Rs. 5000.00 (Rupees Five Thousand Only). Registration fee for SC/ST/ candidates is Rs. 4000.00 (Rupees Four Thousand Only).
  3. The rules stated herein will be applicable for provisional admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme for the Academic Session 2024-2025.
  4. The online application process will be considered completed only after the realisation of the Appliation fee. The candidate must ensure that the Application fee is submitted only through the online portal and link available at the university website. Application fee deposited via any other link or mode other than the payment link provided by the university will not be considered under any circumstances.
  5. If a candidate has applied for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Programme but doesn’t fulfill the eligibility criteria his/her candidature will not be considered.
  6. If all the documents are found to be in order and the eligibility criteria are met by the candidate, the allocated seat will be provisionally approved by the university. In that case, the candidate will have to take the admission on the approved allocated seat by paying the admission fee within the stipulated time.
  7. Candidates are advised to keep the login credentials, i.e. login Id and password strictly confidential to avoid misuse. The login credentials, once generated, cannot be changed/ edited under any circumstances.
  8. The candidate must adhere to the stipulated timelines of all allocation and admission rounds.
  9. A candidate whose documents are found to be invalid owing to willful forgery/ act of cheating will be debarred from admission.

ADMISSION PROCESS:

Registration:

  1. To apply for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) the following are mandatorily required:
    • Applicant’s Name (as it appears in CLAT-2024)
    • Date of Birth
  2. Before starting the registration process, candidates are advised to scan and keep a copy of all the required documents/ certificates on his/her Computer/ Laptop to avoid mistakes while filling in the form. Kindly refer to Annexure 2 for the List of Required Documents.
  3. The application form has the following sections:
    • Personal Details
    • Academic Details
    • Uploads
    • Preview
    • Fee payment
    • Submission

Personal Details:

  1. In the Personal Details section, the candidates should fill up their personal details. details entered by the candidate must match with the particulars mentioned in the certificates/ documents of the candidate. Mismatches/ discrepancies may lead to the rejection of the application at any stage.
  2. Candidates must fill the Personal Section carefully.
  3. The candidates who had opted for PwBD category in CLAT-2024 will not be allowed to change his/her category as s(he) would have availed PwBD benefits (such as compensatory time and/or provision of scribe) during CLAT-2023.
  4. Candidates must ensure that the Bank Account details filled in by him/her are valid and belong either to the candidate or his/her immediate family members only. It may be noted that refunds (if any) by the university will be made only to this account. Change of Bank Account details is not allowed under any circumstances during the entire admission process.
  5. Once the form is submitted, the following Personal Details will not be changed:
    • Candidate’s name
    • Parent’s Name
    • Category / Sub-Category/Caste/ Supernumerary
    • Gender
    • Email id
    • Mobile number
    • Bank Account details
  6. Candidates must enter their own CLAT-2024 Registration No., Rank and Score carefully. Any discrepancy in the declaration of CLAT-2024 Registration No., Rank and Score will lead to cancellation of admission, if allocated.

Academic Details:

  1. Candidates must enter the marks of all the subjects in which s(he) has passed in Class XII.
  2. If the marksheet contains both Class X and Class XII marks, only the Class XII marks must be entered.
  3. The candidate must have passed Theory and Practical separately.
  4. Fill the marks obtained and maximum marks for Theory and Practical separately as per the Class XII marksheet.
  5. If the Theory/ Practical breakup is not specified for a paper, enter the marks only in the ‘Theory’ section for that paper and enter “0” in the maximum marks and marks obtained in the Practical section.
  6. Sessional/ Internal Assessment may be added under the Practical section. Any discrepancy in the entry of marks pertaining to the Theory, Practical or Total, will be the sole responsibility of the candidate.

Uploads:

  1. The candidate must upload the required relevant documents against the claim made in the Registration form.
  2. The Uploads must be same as the mentioned file type and size on the portal.
  3. The name of the candidate claiming reservation must match with the name that appears on the corresponding School Board qualifying certificates and in CLAT-2024. Similarly, the parents’ names must match the certificates.
  4. The candidate shall be responsible for the legibility and authenticity of the certificate s(he) uploads. S(he) must take utmost care to ensure that uploaded documents/ certificates are authentic and accurate.
  5. If any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the Candidate will be debarred from the University and penal action will be taken against the Candidate. No fees will be refunded in such cases.

Preview:

  1. The candidate will be able to preview the application form only after the successful uploading of the mandatory documents. The candidate will have the option of editing/ making changes, if required, at this stage. Thereafter, candidates can not make any change in the form. The candidate must carefully read every detail entered by him/her before proceeding to the next section of the fee submission.

Fee Payment:

  1. The candidates will be able to submit the Application fee at this stage.
  2. Once the application form has been filled and the documents are uploaded, the candidate must submit the form by paying the fee. A candidate will become eligible to participate further only after the successful realization of the fees within the stipulated time.
  3. The fee must be paid only through the Payment Gateway link provided on the candidate’s dashboard. If the registration fee is not successfully remitted, the application will not be considered for allocation under any circumstances.
  4. The candidate must submit the fee through the net-banking or UPI or through debit/credit cards or any other medium mentioned on the portal.
  5. In case of failure of the fee submission the candidate needs to resubmit the fee and wait for the message of the successful submission of the fee.
  6. If a case of the failure in fee submission, the money will be refunded automatically in a few days.
  7. The submission of form will be considered completed only after the successful submission of the fee.

Submission:

  1. After the payment of fee a button for final submission will open. The candidate can submit the final registration form by clicking the submit button.
  2. After the final registration, a mail will be sent to the candidate’s email address mentioned in the form.

Annexure 2

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Candidates shall be required to upload self-attested copies of following certificates/documents at the time of applying (as applicable) and produce the same certificates/documents in original at the time of verification:

  1. Class X Certificate in the name of the candidate, indicating date of birth and parents names.
  2. Class XII Marksheet in the name of the candidate. The name of the candidate must match with the CLAT- 2024 Admit Card and Result.
  3. Recent passport size colour photo
  4. CLAT-2024 Admit Card.
  5. CLAT-2024 Score Card.
  6. SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/FF/DP Certificate issued by the competent issuing authority of Uttar Pradesh.
  7. KM certificate issued by the competent issuing authority.
  8. Any one of the following identity card:
    1. AADHAR Card
    2. Passport
    3. Voter ID
    4. Drivers licence or
    5. Ration Card

Note:

  1. OBC-NCL/EWS Certificate from the competent issuing authority of Uttar Pradesh must be issued after March 31. 2023.
  2. Candidates shall be responsible for the quality and authenticity of the certificate they upload. Candidates must take utmost care to ensure the uploaded documents/certificates are authentic and accurate. Candidates will be responsible to produce documents/ certificates as sought. All certificates/documents will be returned to the candidate by the University upon completion of any verification that may be required at a later stage.
