Debate and Discussion Club

 Introduction:

 The Debate and Discussion Club of Dr. Rajendra Prasad  National Law University, Prayagraj , intend to  promote an atmosphere that is favourable to discussion and healthy competition, acknowledging that  debate plays a crucial role in developing cognitive skills. By instituting this society, we aim to cultivate an  environment for thoughtful dialogues and facilitate debates to invoke critical thinking. We aspire to  engage in nurturing a deeper and more coherent understanding of current, social and legal issues for  enriched and thought-provoking discussions.

 In the pursuit of  KNOWLEDGE AND EXCELLENCE , we dedicate  ourselves to the pillars of  critical thinking  and inclusivity  and intend to contribute meaningfully  to the larger legal and social discourse.

 Aim and Objectives:

The club aims to provide every student—whether a member or not—with opportunities to grow through the following initiatives:

1. Providing a platform to develop their interest in debating. The club seeks to ensure that no student’s desire to engage in thoughtful dialogue goes unfulfilled.
2. Training students who wish to strengthen their debating and discussion skills. Through structured workshops, practice sessions, and mentorship, the club equips students with the tools to become confident, logical, and persuasive speakers.
3. Fostering a culture of interactive and inclusive debates and discussions that contribute to the intellectual growth of each student. By encouraging participation in meaningful conversations across diverse topics, the club promotes awareness and nurtures critical thinking.
4. Advancing the argumentation and articulation skills of budding lawyers. These competencies are vital not only for legal practice but also for broader academic and professional contexts. The club serves as a dynamic training ground for students to become articulate advocates and thoughtful professionals.
